Robb Joins Andretti Autosport For 2022 Indy Lights Season

Sting Ray Robb is moving to Andretti Autosport for his second season of Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires competition in 2022, team officials announced Oct. 28.

Road to Indy veteran Robb, 20, competed as an Indy Lights rookie in 2021 with Juncos Racing after winning the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires with the team. Robb, from Payette, Idaho, finished eighth in the Indy Lights standings in 2021, with a best finish of fifth at Mid-Ohio in the final event of the season.

I saw tremendous growth as a driver this past season and am anticipating using all those tools as I move forward with the Andretti Autosport team. As I team up with Andretti, I am confident that the Indy Lights championship is an achievable goal.

During Robb’s run in the Road to Indy, he made 61 starts, captured seven victories, 18 podium finishes, started from pole position seven times, set four track records, was the AIM Move of the Year recipient twice and was the only driver in 2020 to complete all 485 laps of the Indy Pro 2000 season. With the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 scholarship, Robb entered the 2021 Indy Lights field and secured a top-10 result in 15 of his 20 starts during the season. He also earned his second Spirit Award, presented by the Road to Indy and Kids on Track program.

Andretti Autosport drivers have won the last three Indy Lights season championships, with Pato O’Ward in 2018, Oliver Askew in 2019 and Kyle Kirkwood in 2021.

Robb will make his debut in the No. 2 Andretti Autosport machine for the first time at the Chris Griffis Memorial Open Test on Oct. 30-31 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
